Ingredients:
1 Pound(s) beef, ground
1 finely chopped onion, white
2 Tablespoon(s) ancho chili powder
1 Teaspoon(s) salt
1 Teaspoon(s) cumin
1 Teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1 Teaspoon(s) red pepper flakes
3 Clove(s) minced garlic
3 Tablespoon(s) tomato paste
1 Cup(s) beef, broth
2 bay leaves

Optional Ingredients:
1 Can(s) hatch green chilies Add to shopping list
1 canned in adobo sauce pepper, chipotle Add to shopping list
1 Teaspoon(s) peri peri Add to shopping list
1 Teaspoon(s) liquid smoke Add to shopping list

Directions:
Saute the beef and onion in a skillet until no longer pink. Add spices and tomato paste. Stir to mix. Add garlic and green chilis. Add broth and bay leaves.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered until the broth is evaporated, about 15 minutes.
