Ingredients:
2 Pound(s) ripe tomato
5 Tablespoon(s) butter
1 onion, white
1 Pinch(s) salt
Directions:
Put the chopped tomatoes and juice in a saucepan. Add butter, peeled and halved onion, and salt. Cook uncovered at low steady simmer for 45 minutes or until the fat floats free from the tomato. Stir from time to time, mashing any large piece of tomato in the pan. Taste and correct for salt. Discard the onion before tossing the sauce with the pasta.
