Directions:
This is my adaptation of the delicious Southern Sweet Chow Chow recipe on this site. For 1 quart of cukes or chow chow yummies: Brine: * Heat the water, then dissolve the salt and sugar in the water. (The salt can be increase up to 2T, according to taste.) * Put spices into a 1 quart jar. Stuff the veggies in (sliced cucumbers; or cabbage, corn, peppers. Whatever you want!) * Pour the brine over, leaving .5 inch at the top. Cover with tight fitting lid and leave on the counter for 2-3 days before transferring to cold storage. |
