Ingredients:
1 Cup(s) flour
1 Cup(s) corn starch
1 1/2 Teaspoon(s) salt
1 Teaspoon(s) baking powder
1 1/2 Cup(s) beer
2 Pound(s) cod
3 Pound(s) yukon gold potato
8 Cup(s) oil, peanut
Directions:
Make the batter

Combine flour, corn starch, salt, baking powder, and beer.
Cover and set aside.

Cut cod into 8 equal pieces.
Pat dry, season with salt and pepper.

Put batter and fish into refrigerator.

Add fries to cold peanut oil and bring to a boil. About 7 min.
Continue boiling for about 15 minutes, until almost done

Stir fries gently to separate fries.
Boil for another 4 minutes.

Remove from oil and place on tray with paper towels and set aside.

Put all the fish into the batter ensure it is all covered in batter.

Bring the oil back up to 375 degrees.
Place the fish into the oil tenderly.

Cook the fish in batches of 4. Cook each batch for four minutes on each side.

Remove from oil and salt the fish.

Bring the oil back up to 375 degrees.
Cook the fries for one minute to crisp up and warm them.

Salt the fries and serve with lemon and malt vinegar.
